This is the the first part in my Whale Modeling, Sculpting and Texturing workflow videos.

Here I show the modelling portion. It’s done in Blender. The process is presented as time-lapsed videos with annotations.
It is not quite a tutorial but you can see how I solve the problems as they arise.
In this part I use references that are on a second monitor. I cannot share all references due to licensing issues. But if you just search for “humpback whale” on Goolge Image search, you can get many great reference images. Make sure you find many types of images, e.g. different angles, anatomy images, close-ups of different parts (useful later when sculpting) etc.
You can use something like PureRef to make working with your references easier.
